Frequently Asked Questions

Club / Membership

  • What layouts do you have

All layouts at the club are owned by individuals or groups of members and cover a wide range of scales, gauges and eras. All layouts are now illustrated under the Layouts section along with layouts now retired

We currently have identified space at the clubrooms for some new layouts of either OO or N gauge and there are plans for a new O gauge layout in the existing space

  • Is your clubroom accessible

We do have members who access the clubrooms with the aid of a wheelchair, though full accessibility is not possible due to restrictions of the period building layout. An overview of the building accessibility is documented in our Access Statement under 'About'

  • How do I become a member

Please contact us to disucss your requirements and we will arrange to meet you at one of the regular club openings. As an aid to helping you with your decision your first 3 visits to the Club will be completely free from any commitment on your part

  • I am a trader interested in having a stand at your exhibition

Please email us with details of your business and required space. Minimum space is 6 foot which is charged at £10.00 per foot.

Please also let us know if you would be open to short notice events if we have to reschedule

  • I am a layout owner wanting to exhibit at your exhibition

Please feel free to send us pictures and information on your layout or display and we will get back to you shortly.(GDPR rules applying)

Other

  • I have a press enquiry

Please contact us via the contact  page and we will get back to you to discuss your requirements

  • Do you buy and sell model railway collections

Unfortunately we are not in a position to buy and sell nor value peoples collections of model railway pieces

If you are considering selling the items in bulk then we suggest that you either search online for interested dealers of obtain a recent copy of a Model Railway magazine and consult the advertisements for such

You will probably glean more value if you sell individual items via an online auction site, though this is time consuming and requires postage and packaging which of necessity will need to be sent recorded delivery. For a indicative value of items, use the same site to search for previous sales and if unsure of the items detail try a search engine and use the ‘image’ feature to positively identify each one
