Keighley Model Railway Club 42nd Exhibition
11/12th March 2017
The new venue of University Academy Keighley marked a new beginning for the Annual Exhibition, spread across 2 well-lit modern halls with full catering facilities and level disabled access with wide dedicated disabled parking in front of the entrance in addition to ample parking.
The attendance over the weekend was about 1,600 paying visitors which with the small children, makes it over 2,000. A record for at least 20 years.
With a digital train set as a prize every day this made it worth attending. For families with children there was an interactive family area - teaching people how to make plastic & card models.
Novelty train set layouts, face painting, Thomas the tank engine & friends, Lego, Brio & Konnex to play with, many parents relaxed whilst the children were entertained having a well earned rest and a cuppa.
There was also a chance to meet some railway characters from stage & screen, and if that wasn't enough there was a live steam railway to ride on outside.
On Sunday we held the annual prize giving and the winners were;-
